Home Schooling Families Spoke Out Against Teen Curfew in Magnolia, Texas

Thanks the mass emails from the Texas Home School Coalition and Home School Legal Defense Association, Magnolia City Hall was standing room only at their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday night, July 8, 2014. On the meeting agenda was scheduled a public hearing to reinstate a teen curfew ordinance for the city of Magnolia. The city let the ordinance lapse after now holding a public hearing to reinstate it in 2010. So reality the ordinance was inactive. Home school families showed up in droves to let their voices heard. Many adults gave public comments as well as some of their children. In attendance also was Texas HR Steve Toth who opposed the ordinance as well.

Unanimously the room was against the day time curfew. The council asked for a show how hands who was against the night-time curfew as well and the majority raised their hands. The city the voted to let the ordinance die.

I would like to personally say I was well pleased with the council and their generosity in allowing any and all who wanted to speak do so. Magnolia Police Chief, Domingo Ibarra was extremely gracious and showed concern regarding the ordinance as well. MagnoliaCity Administator, Paul Mendes thanked the audience for coming out and for being so well behaved.

Restraining Order against Texas ISD on CSCOPE

“MEDIA ADVISORY”: CSCOPE Press Conference Monday, August 12th at 1:30 pm CT

Austin, Tx -Lt. Governor David Dewhurst and Llano ISD Parents, Grandparents and tax payers will hold a news conference on Monday, August 12 at 1:30 PM CT in the Senate Press Rm at the capitol in Austin, TXto announce that parents, grandparents and taxpayers of Llano County, Texas sought and obtained a Temporary Restraining Order from State District Judge Dan Mills. This Court Order bans the Llano Independent School District (Llano ISD) from the use of CSCOPE Lesson Plans until those plans have been approved by the State Board of Education.

During the news conference Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst and House Representative Steve Toth will stand with WomenOnTheWall.org Board Member Alice Linahan, Llano Tax Payer Bill Hussey and Attorney Tim Cowart, who will make this announcement.

CSCOPE has finally made it to the Texas House Public Education Committee! Representative Toth will layout HB 760 before the Public Education Committee, which will be hearing testimony from citizens like you! We need you to come out and support the review of CSCOPE and the review of Regional Service Centers. Your voice will help us stop CSCOPE!

If the INDOCTRINATION of CSCOPE and programs like it are not STOPPED our FREEDOM will no longer exist as we have know it. Sadly they have had it in our Texas schools since 2006 without parents knowing.

Open Records Request for Cscope Financials

Freshman Texas House Representative Steve Toth has released the following press release stating that his office as filed an open records request for the financials and meeting minutes of the Texas Education Service Center Curriculum Collaborative (TESCCC) who owns the controversial Texas Curriculum, Cscope. Cscope has come under fire lately from the Texas Senate Education Committee due to the grassroots effort of exposing the progressive/Marxist curriculum. Cscope has been in the Texas school system for the last 6-7 years without parent or community knowledge due to the stealth tactics taken by the board of directors of TESCCC of not releasing lesson content to parents and having teachers sign a non-disclosure statement that they would not release material or say anything negative about it. ATTENTION TEXAS PARENTS, TAXPAYERS & PATRIOTS

Please contact your house Texas House Representatives asking them to cosponsor Steve Toth’s HB 760 . The Bill titled
THE CSCOPE TRANSPARENCY ACT’ HB 760 will call for oversight for e-learning material/curriculum within our public schools. Presently Texas has a curriculum in 70% of our Texas schools called Cscope that has no outside oversight. The curriculum contains controversy lessons and the creation on the non-profit Texas Education Service Center Curriculum Collaborative (TESCCC) who owns Cscope is up for investigation.
